MUAY THAI
Like many martial arts, a grading system is used to monitor the progression of skills & experience, usually in the form of coloured belts from white to black.
In Muay Thai, the grading system is a similar structure but instead, coloured mongkols (headbands) are worn, with levels khan1 to khan10 (white to black belt).
As you progress through your journey, step by step you will improve your Muay Thai skills, techniques, balance, fitness and flexibility. The khan certifications are an official acknowledgment of your achievements.
The course and exams are not easy, and they do not come with a guaranteed pass, but the feeling of being rewarded for each level, by a Grand Master at the Head Quarters of the KRU Muay Thai Association is an experience you'll always remember.

STARTING TRAINING
Your training can start from an absolute beginner in Malta. You will be introduced to and progressed through learning the art of Muay Thai Boran aligned with the standards and requirements of the KRU Muay Thai Association & the World Muay Boran Federation.
Training is 1:1 with a certified KRU coach, where you will learn basic stance, balance, punches, kicks, and defense.
You will understand Thai terminology and progress your fitness and flexibility to be able to demonstrate the techniques for each khan level.
You will be fully prepared for the course & exam in Thailand, which can be achieved in 2 - 3 months if fully committed (training 3x - 5x per week with planned nutrition)
You will require an absolute minimum of 1 private coaching session per week. Training & practice alone is also essential. A training schedule and plan will be provided.
Additional coaching is optional.

Training Camp & Certification
Your basic training will be progressed by Masters of Muay Thai and current professional fighters in top camp in Bangkok, which is authentic and upholds the principles of the origins of Muay Thai Boran.
This is a full-time course [5-days 7am - 4pm] where you be immersed in the world of Muay Thai.
Training is 3x per day. You'll be coached to polish your skills ready for the end-of-week exam,
You'll be awarded your certificate by a Muay Thai Grand Master at a ceremony held at the headquarters of Muay Thai Boran. During our stay, you will also get to watch real, championship Muay Thai fights at a stadium!

LIFE AT THE CAMP
YOUR ROOM:
The accommodation is within the training camp.
It's very basic, but clean, with your own private bathroom, shower, and an A/C.
FOOD:
A communal kitchen has everything you need to make your own breakfast.
A fresh produce market is close by.
Evening meals are included at a nearby restaurant serving only local Thai dishes.
